Why are items no longer available on the menu able to be ordered?

Menus are fixed to the date when the order is placed. Therefore, if an order is placed on Monday for Thursday, and then you edit your menu and send it for approval on Tuesday and it is approved, come Thursday the order that was placed on Monday will still only show items that were live on Monday. Therefore, it is important when changing menus and removing items to note that all existing orders will still only show the historical menu that existed at the time the order was placed no matter how far in the future the order will actually be fulfilled.
